2025 SSAWW Award

The Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SSAWW) awarded its inaugural Recovery Hub Digital Edition Prize to the Catharine Maria Sedgwick Online Letters.

In November 2025, the Society for the Study of American Women Writers (SSAWW) awarded its inaugural Recovery Hub Digital Edition Prize, which “recognizes excellence in the field of digital recovery of American women writers,” to the Catharine Maria Sedgwick Online Letters. In her letter to the editors, Dr. Jessica Despain, founder of the Recovery Hub for American Women Writers, noted that the Awards Committee found their decision “very difficult . . . based on the number of competitive submissions they received from fellow nominees this conference year; however, they believe your work on the Catharine Maria Sedgwick Online Letters project stands in a class of its own, and we join the committee in congratulating you on this prestigious honor.”
