Postal Service Private Practice
Frederick April 8. 1816Dear Sir

The mail of yesterday from George Town came in so late that I could not reply to your letter by the returning mail. Mr. Mason was mistaken in supposing that I attended Allegany county court – I have never practiced there – and it is so distant that I must decline the trial of your Suit

The book and papers were sent to me by by Mr. Getzandanner before the mail arrived and I had opened the envelope. before the receipt of your letter – They will be delivered to your order –

I am very respectfully / yr. Obdt. St.R. B. Taney
