Annapolis Monday June 21. 1819 My Dear Child

I am much obliged to you for your letter for I was very anxious to hear from you all, and now that I have heard from you, and heard that my poor little Elizabeth is sick, I shall be very uneasy about her and about all of you untill I hear again from home. I fear you will all get the measles before I return, – Tell your dear mother that I expect she will fulfill her promise to write as often as I write to her and she is now three letters in my debt, she must write by every mail until we get even. I shall be here all this week and all next week – but I hope not longer. I am sorry to hear your Grandmother is sick – I hope she is better. – I am sometimes better and sometimes not so well. – Give my love to your dear mother & if she is not able to write to me I hope you will – Give my love to Elizabeth & Ellen & Sophia & tell them I wish very much to see them
