Washington Decr. 11. 1850 My Dear Sir

I take pleasure in introducing to you Wm. Shepard Bryan Esquire of North Carolina who comes to Baltimore with a view of residing there and engaging in the practice of the law. He is the nephew of Mr. Shepard formerly a member of Congress from North Carolina, with whom Mrs. Taney & your wife were well acquainted when we lived in Washington – and who has given him a letter of introduction to me. – Please introduce him to my family, & I need not I am sure ask you to afford him those attentions, which to a stranger in the city may be useful, & render his new residence pleasant to him –

Very truly yours R. B. Taney
