Temple made by Hiram; all of Brass— This chapter begins at the 13
th. verse of the corresponding Chapter
of the Hebrew, and ends with the first 12. There are unintelligible

- 8. Solomon dedicates the Temple— The Ark is deposited in the
Sanctuary. Solomon’s prayer— blessing Sacrifice— Between the 53
d. and 54th.
verses of this chapter is an incongruous interpolation of about two
verses— Altogether the Dedication is more sublime in the
Hebrew
- 9. Second appearance of the Lord to Solomon— Declares his
acceptance of the Dedication prayers— Hallows the Temple and renews
the promise of protection to the house of David— Hiram’s Cities of
