The Story of the prophet sent to prophesy against the altar of Jeroboam and slain by a Lion, for believing the lie of another prophet, illustrates the irremissible penalty of disobedience to the Will of God, and is very wonderful— After the separation of the tribes into two Kingdoms; that of Israel was never more than three reigns successively in the same family— That of Judah descended regularly in hereditary Succession from David The kings of Israel, reigned at first in Tirzah—but Omri built the city of Samaria, and his son Ahab, built an house and an altar to Baal. He married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Zidonians. In his time Hiel rebuilt Jericho—and the prophesy of Joshua was fulfilled. And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver, and built on the hill, and called the name of the City which he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria— 1 Kings. 16.24.
