Visits from several members of Congress— Conversation with Mr Silsbee— Andrew Armstrong— Walk before dinner round Capitol hill— Wrote to Charles— Mr and Mrs Frye and their Son Thomas dined here— I was disabled from writing, morn and eve; and consequently fell into arrears both of Diary and Index— Effect of the President’s Proclamation in South Carolina very inflammatory.
