29. IV. Friday—

Adams Thomas B. Mrs Dexter Mrs M’Kay

Wrote this morning to my Son JohnMy brother called at 8 O’Clock, and we went to the Woodlots upon which the wood is to be sold, standing; called the Field, Joy and Savil lots— I took the plans with me; but even with them obtained very imperfectly the idea of their bounds. The rail-way crosses them all three— I found at the ground Deacon Spear with his brother William, and two other men; who were staking off the lots for Sale— Mr James Hall went round with us, and knowing all the bounds, pointed them out— Some of them have been removed by the workmen upon the Rail-way— We entered at Mr Hall’s gate, and proceeded to the Field lot, through his Land upon which it borders— We met Deacon Adams upon the ground Hall conducted us to several of the corner bounds; which are remarkable for being upon large and high Rocks— We went to the Railway tower immediately South of which part of my Land extends— S. Farrar; by my direction took up five Roots of wild Strawberry vines, which I found there growing out of the Rocks; and which immediately on returning home I had set out at the Northwest corner of my Garden— I fear too late in the Season— I found at home Mrs Dexter and her daughter Mrs M’Kay, visiting Mrs Adams— My brother dined with us— I endeavoured to read and to and to write after dinner, but was overpowered by weariness, and obliged to desist. I began this morning to read the Preface of Ernesti to his Clavis, but could not finish it.
