26. V:30. Mr Ward Nicholas Boylston and his wife were here and passed the day. I attended at meeting, and heard morning and afternoon, Mr Francis of Watertown— He dined with us at my father’s. P. P. F. Degrand came out from Boston, and I strolled with him over the hills. Captain Beale and Mr Quincy with his Son were here in the Evening. My brother continues quite unwell— I had not seen Mr Boylston since I sailed for Russia in 1809. He is rather bowed than broken with his years, and retains much of the vivacity of his Spirits. I attempted this day to write but with little success.
