1. VI: Monday. I had a morning quiet and uninterrupted; the first since we landed at New-York— It was occupied in writing and continuing the examination of my brother’s accounts. I went with my wife and my Son George and dined at Mr William Foster’s, at Boston— A small family party. W. Foster junr. and his daughter Virginia—Charles Foster and his wife—H. G. Otis, Coll: and Mrs Apthorp, who was Mary Foster, and Mr Holley formed the party— We left George in town to go to Cambridge and enter upon his studies to-morrow. Returned with my wife to Quincy, this Evening.
