23. VII: George was very sick in the Night, and we were up, part of the Night with him. He was better this Morning— Mr Sanders came, and went with the boys to Church— We had a visit from Mr S. Williams who has returned from his excursion to the isle of Wight. I was employed almost all the day in writing to the Secretary of the Treasury— Received Letters from Messrs: Eustis and Everett who have arrived in Holland. They forwarded also to me, a Letter from my Mother, and one from Mr Joseph Hall of Boston. After dinner, Mrs Adams with the boys took a ride— I left them at Hyde Park Corner; and thence walk to Kensington Garden, through it, and returned home, along by the Northern wall of the Park.
