8. I was so unwell the whole day as to be in a great measure disqualified for any useful occupation, and in a manner the most irksome listlessness which prompts to indolence without excusing it— I walked nevertheless—looked in for half an hour at the auction of Books, 362and afterwards walking on the Fontanka met Mr Woodward who walked with me— We had Evening visits from Mr: Rosenzweig and Mr Brandel who had a budget of news.— I wrote to Mr Russell in London— My indisposition has suspended much of my attention to the Books I am reading—to Paucton among the rest.
