24. Attended at my Office this morning, where I had various visitors, and read the less— At the insurance Office, where I saw Mr: T. Greenleaf and Mr: G. Apthorp; but neither of them had heard from my mother this day— Mr: W. Smith told me that Dr: Welsh had been confined to his house these ten days, by a breeding sore on his hand— I call’d there in the Evening to see him— He has been quite ill, but is recovering. Club at Dr: Elliot’s; which was well attended; and where besides our own members I found Dr Mason of New-York—Mr: Reid, my old College tutor; and Mr: Andrews of Newbury-Port.
